The National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) and the National Center for Education Research (NCER) within the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) periodically host a series of webinars related to research funding opportunities.   • Overview of Continuous Improvement Research in Education (CIRE) and Evaluation of State and Local Education Programs and Policies (State and Local) During this webinar, IES staff provided information on applying for research grants within the Partnerships and Collaborations Focused on Problems of Practice or Policy grants program (84.305H), specifically the CIRE topic and the State and Local topic. The webinar addressed the requirements for the partnerships and their research.

  • Overview of Education Research & Development Centers Competition (84.305C): IES Research and Development Centers are charged with contributing to the production and dissemination of rigorous research and providing national leadership on a specific education topic. For FY 2015, NCER will be competing three Research and Development Centers, specifically Knowledge Utilization, Standards in Schools, and Virtual Learning. During this webinar, IES staff provided information about the focus of these centers, the application requirements, and the peer review process.
