The project builds on the previous research that examined the first year of implementation of the Title IIB Mathematics and Science programs in the Pacific Northwest. This research will examine the extent to which the partnership programs address key critical indicators of quality professional development. The structure and rigor of the evaluations designed and implemented in the programs provide evidence of current practices that seek to document the impacts of the programs. This research addresses the need to more critically examine efforts to increase teacher content knowledge in mathematics and science and to improve instructional practices in the disciplines.
