This project examines the correspondence between the science content contained in northwest state science standards and the science content that will be assessed on the 2009 science National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). The alignment study is intended to support the efforts of state education agency staff to revise and improve science standards and assessments. It will provide information about how the depth and breadth of coverage of science content in the science standards of five Northwest states matches the NAEP science assessment framework designed for the 2009 NAEP test.
