Dr. Christopher Mazzeo
Christopher Mazzeo is the Director for Evidence Use and Policy at Education Northwest and Director of REL Northwest. Dr. Mazzeo has over 15 years of experience developing actionable research and evaluation findings and building partnerships that support better research and evidence use. Prior to joining Education Northwest, Mazzeo spent three years with the Consortium on Chicago School Research (CCSR) at the University of Chicago, where he led CCSR's nationally focused policy and capacity-building initiatives. In this role, he consulted extensively with state and national policymakers, school districts, and researchers on developing early warning and college readiness and success indicator systems. He also worked with organizations to create new research consortia modeled on CCSR in other cities and states. Mazzeo has also served as an evaluation consultant to the Harvard University Strategic Data Project, as a senior education policy analyst with the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices, and as Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Educational Leadership at Baruch College of the City University of New York. He earned his Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Policy, and Educational Practice at Stanford University in 2001.
