Research Questions:

  • How can SC identify charter schools that are beating the odds over time?
  • How do charter schools in SC identified to have beaten the odds compare to other charter and traditional schools in the state with similar demographics on student outcomes, i.e., achievement and school attendance?
  • In SC, what school leadership strategies and practices do "beating the odds" charter schools implement that are different from similar ("sister") schools with lower student performance?
