The Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management (APPAM) was created in 1979 to improve public policy and management by fostering excellence in research, analysis, and education. APPAM provides a venue for disseminating research on public policy and management through its multidisciplinary annual research conference and peer-reviewed journal.

The annual Fall Research Conference, structured around the theme The Role of Research in Making Government More Effective, will provide an opportunity for policy makers and other practitioners to engage in collaborative interactions and exchanges about how to improve policy and governance. Description of WWC Conference Session

The WWC will participate in a roundtable discussion, “Presenting Research Findings for Decision-Makers: Lessons From Four Systematic Reviews,” on Thursday, November 3 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Washington Hilton, room Columbia 12. Dr. Neil Seftor will present on behalf of the WWC. He will be joined by Dr. Samantha Harvell of the What Works in Reentry Clearinghouse, Emily Sama-Miller of the Clearinghouse for Labor Evaluation and Research, and Dr. Lauren Supplee, the federal project officer for the Home Visiting Evidence of Effectiveness. Jon Baron, vice president of the Evidence-Based Policy Initiative in the Laura and John Arnold Foundation, will moderate. The presenters will introduce four systematic reviews and discuss how the reviews present research findings to meet the specific needs of decision-makers. They will also share lessons on how to present research findings to support evidence-based decision-making.
