Reporting the Results of Your Study: A User-Friendly Guide for Evaluators of Educational Programs and Practices

The purpose of this guide is to provide researchers, and those who sponsor and use research, with clear, practical advice on reporting the results of "impact" studies—that is, studies which evaluate a program's effectiveness by comparing participants' educational outcomes (e.g., reading or math skills) with:

  1. those of a control or comparison group that does not receive the program, or
  2. participants' pre-program ratings on these outcome measures.

The guide suggests key items to include in the study report so as to give the reader a clear understanding of what was evaluated, how it was evaluated, and what the evaluation found.
