Description: The achievement gap continues to affect some students from minority and low-income backgrounds across the country. Schools have a powerful opportunity to negate the effects of this achievement gap by fostering culture, academics, activities, and family connections.
Drawing from his work with the Annenberg Institute for School Reform and his previous work with the Community Involvement Program at New York University’s Institute for Education and Social Policy, Richard Gray will share ideas on effective practices that can support students, families, and educators in overcoming the achievement gap.
Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and share insights through the use of polls and chats.
This is the final webinar in REL Mid-Atlantic’s Educator Effectiveness series.
Audience: The webinar is intended for principals, teachers, state and local education agency administrators, and researchers.
Speakers: Richard Gray, Director of the Community Organizing and Engagement Division of the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University
