Comprehensive Program for Adaptive Interventions Training in Education Sciences (CATIE)
The purpose of this project is to conduct, evaluate, and continually refine a training program, Comprehensive Program for Adaptive Interventions Training in Education Sciences (CATIE). CATIE is designed to train education scientists in the use of sequential multiple assignment randomized trials (SMART) for constructing adaptive interventions.

LIFT: Leveraging Autism Intervention for Families Through Telehealth
The Principal Investigator (PI) will conduct a program of research to support families of young children with neurodevelopmental disorders while participating in mentoring and training activities to develop knowledge and skills related to implementation science, designs to optimize adaptive interventions and analyze outcomes, and grant writing. Standard home coaching for caregivers focused on children's social communication can lead to gains in children's engagement and communication as well...

An Introduction to Adaptive Interventions and SMART Designs in Education
Educators must often adapt interventions over time because what works for one student may not work for another and what works now for one student may not work in the future for the same student. Adaptive interventions provide education practitioners with a prespecified, systematic, and replicable way of doing this through a sequence of decision rules for whether, how, and when to modify interventions. The sequential, multiple assignment, randomized trial (SMART) is one type of multistage, exper

Getting SMART About Adaptive Interventions in Education
The purpose of this project is to develop, implement, evaluate, and continually refine a training program in the development of adaptive interventions (AIs) in education and the use of sequential, multiple assignment, randomized trials (SMARTs) for optimizing adaptive interventions. AIs use a sequence of individually tailored decision rules that specify whether, how, and when to alter the dosage (duration, frequency, or amount), type, or delivery of interventions to students. These intervent...
