About
Kara’s math curriculum design work draws upon her 10 plus years’ experience teaching students ranging in age from 3-years-old into adulthood. Kara first became interested in early childhood mathematics instruction as a second grade teacher in San Francisco, developing math curriculum with the Berkeley Mathematics Professional Development Institute before moving to New York and becoming a research fellow at Teachers College, Columbia University, co-managing a $1.4M grant developing early childhood math software. Her training in Cognitive Studies in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, focused on children's strategy development in mathematics. Kara has been the PI on two IES SBIR grants.

Teachley Analytics Library: A Collection of Educational Apps Personalizing Gameplay and Reporting Insights
This project team is developing and testing a prototype of the Teachley Analytics Library, a platform intended to host third party-developed mathematics game apps for students in kindergarten through Grade 8.
