Laura Checovich

Laura Checovich, MPP, PMP, is the dissemination task lead for Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southwest and a senior researcher at the American Institutes for Research (AIR). As the REL Southwest task lead, Ms. Checovich specializes in reaching and informing stakeholders through diverse channels such as events, documentaries, workshops, newsletters, videos, and social media, tailoring resources to meet the needs of audiences ranging from state policymakers to classroom teachers. She collaborates closely with researchers and technical assistance providers to develop materials that resonate with audiences, and she implements communication systems that facilitate ongoing assessment of client needs and solicit feedback on services. Ms. Checovich is the communications and dissemination lead for the Strategic Funding and Finance Content Center in the Comprehensive Centers Network, and she has managed communications for REL Midwest, the Research on Education Strategies to Advance Recovery and Turnaround (RESTART) Network, and the Region 9 Comprehensive Center, bringing extensive experience as a strategic thought partner to state and local education agencies. She is recognized for her leadership in effective communication methods and strategies for disseminating research and evaluation findings and for translating knowledge into technical assistance.
