Across education and the workforce, society increasingly depends on people who can reason with data, yet many middle-school students enter high school without the statistical literacy needed to make informed decisions or access emerging careers.

In this project, the team will develop a new prototype component of the game focusing on statistics and probability for middle school students. In prior research and development, the developers created Tyto Online, an online multiplayer sandbox game where middle school students engage in quests to apply life science learning. This project will extend the game by developing a prototype for the Earth and Space science domain, with a prototype including quests for the Climate and Weather topic aligned to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
