Learning From Each Other: State Efforts to Address the Opioid Epidemic and Its Consequences on Schools in Appalachia
In October 2018 the REL Appalachia (REL AP) Governing Board explored how the education system is supporting Appalachian students, teachers, communities, and families in the midst of the opioid epidemic. This blog highlights themes, strategies, and challenges discussed by board members in relation to trauma-informed care, collaboration among schools, and early childhood and special education within the context of the opioid epidemic's impact on schools.
