The purpose of the study is to develop and communicate guidance to applied SSED researchers in setting up studies, conducting the analyses, and interpreting and reporting the results. Single-subject experimental designs (SSEDs) are being used to tackle critical research problems where group comparison designs are not feasible, due to logistical and resource constraints or to the nature of the study population.

The project team further developed the multilevel modeling approach for combining the results of studies that use single-subject experimental designs (SSED). The study empirically investigated the approach using both real data and simulation studies.
