Executive Functioning and Academic Skills in Down Syndrome

Down Syndrome (DS) is the most common genetic cause of intellectual disability. In addition to other documented cognitive problems, preliminary evidence suggests that children with DS may have deficits in certain executive functioning (EF) skills-cognitive processes that are important for adaptive, goal-directed actions.
