The purpose of this study was to explore the role of diet in middle school students' behavioral and academic outcomes. Although evidence suggests that poor diet quality contributes to emotional and behavioral problems, research examining the temporal relationships between diet, behavior, and academic outcomes had been lacking.

The Principal Investigator (PI) will conduct a program of research for improving outcomes for students with emotional disturbance (ED) while developing skills related to this research, including establishing partnerships with schools and districts, analyzing data using multi-level modeling and other advanced statistical techniques, and writing competitive grant proposals.
