The Institute of Education Sciences, in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), invites applications for research projects that will contribute to its research program on Social and Character Development. The purpose of this program is to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions designed to promote positive social and character development, increase positive behaviors, and reduce antisocial behaviors among elementary school children. Interventions should focus on building social and emotional competencies and on developing important skills, such as self-regulation, conflict resolution, and social problem solving.
