The Institute of Education Sciences (Institute) invites applications for research projects that will contribute to its program of Special Education Research on Individualized Education Programs. Through its program of Special Education Research on Individualized Education Programs (IEP Research), the Institute intends to contribute to the improvement of education for students with disabilities by (1) developing practices, programs, or systems designed to enhance the abilities of education practitioners and administrators to create, implement, and monitor appropriate and effective individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities; (2) determining the efficacy of practices, programs, or systems designed to improve the use of IEPs through efficacy or replication trials; and (3) providing evidence on the effectiveness of practices, programs, or systems designed to improve the use of IEPs when implemented at scale. The long term outcome of this program will be an array of programs and practices that have been documented to be effective for meeting the needs of the full range of students with disabilities
