Description: | Video Demonstration of the Phase I Prototype: Readorium-YouTube Purpose: The project team developed a prototype of the Readorium Rising Reader, a web-based game for students in grades 3 to 5 to strengthen reading comprehension of non-fiction science text. The game provided students with strategies to use as they construct meaning and decipher new content vocabulary. The game supplements classroom lessons and is aligned with the Common Core State Standards. Pilot research in Phase I demonstrated that the software prototype functioned as planned and that students were engaged with the components of the prototype.
