Description: Purpose: This project will modify an existing student profile scoring method for use with NAEP data. The profile scoring system will allow results to be reported in terms of mastery and non-mastery of the skills represented in each of the four achievement levels. Profile scores may make it possible to determine the diagnostic strength of particular aspects of the NAEP framework categories, and they may provide a foundation for evaluating similarities and differences between NAEP and the state accountability tests.
