The Postdoctoral Research Training Program in Education Sciences focuses on providing interdisciplinary training in methods for education research, including statistical methods, measurement methods, evaluation methods, and research design, in the research area focus of individual fellows. The program aims to train postdoctoral fellows in applied education research and produce a new generation of education researchers dedicated to solving the pressing challenges facing the American educational system through methodologically rigorous and relevant research. Fellows in this program work in one of a variety of substantive and methodological educational research projects. These include projects on the design of large scale randomized experiments; methods for meta-analyses of large-scale research studies; the social distribution of academic achievement; and the development of language, mathematical, and spatial skills. In this program fellows present and publish papers, write grant proposals, and produce a career development plan.
