Description: In 2012, the REL program required that researchers work in substantive partnership with practitioners through research alliances. These alliances included state and local educational leaders, representatives of higher education, and school-based practitioners. The purpose was to build research and evaluation capacity through deliberate partnerships and to conduct research and evaluation that was useful to stakeholders by addressing problems of practice or policy.
REL Northeast & Islands alliances addressed four regional priority topics. The panel presenters will share experiences and examples of different ways REL Northeast & Islands researchers and evaluators engaged alliance members to identify, develop, execute, and use evaluation and research. They will share strategies for collaborating with stakeholders to use evaluation and research findings to enhance evaluation capacity at the local and state levels. They will share lessons learned and reflect on how they will continue to work with partnerships and alliances to ensure research and evaluation conducted by REL Northeast & Islands continues to be meaningful to stakeholders.
Audience: Evaluation 2017 brings together evaluators, evaluation scholars, students, and evaluation users from around the world.
