Description: In this APPAM panel presentation, REL Southwest researcher Dr. Brenda Arellano presents information on an upcoming longitudinal study on the progress toward English proficiency for New Mexico's American Indian English learner students. Stakeholders in New Mexico will use the findings to identify the language domains and grade levels in which these students may benefit from additional support and to inform multicultural bilingual education programs serving this population. The study is being developed with members of the REL Southwest English Learners Research Partnership.
