About this event
NCES is mandated to report to Congress on the condition of education by June 1 of each year. The Condition of Education 2013 summarizes important developments and trends in education using the latest available data. The 2013 report presents 42 indicators on the status and condition of education. The indicators are grouped under four main areas: (1) population characteristics, (2) participation in education, (3) elementary and secondary education, and (4) postsecondary education. In addition, the report contains four Spotlights that provide a more in-depth look at specific topics of current interest. These topics are (1) Trends in Employment Rates by Educational Attainment; (2) Kindergarten Entry Status: On-Time, Delayed-Entry, and Repeating Kindergartners; (3) The Status of Rural Education in the United States; and (4) Financing Postsecondary Education in the United States.
