Description: The 2021 virtual Carnegie Foundation Summit on Improvement in Education convenes education professionals such as school and district leaders, leaders in state departments of education and professional organizations, higher education faculty, and community leaders to address complex problems affecting equitable educational outcomes. This year's summit features REL Appalachia's (REL AP) poster titled, Data-Driven Decisionmaking to Support Students Experiencing Trauma. The poster illustrates how different organizations came together to address shared problems, highlights REL AP's intensive support work in West Virginia, and presents takeaways from the Handle With Care (HWC) pilot, a free program that supports students experiencing trauma. The HWC pilot allows educators to support students experiencing trauma by using a continuous improvement approach for data review, analysis, and action.
