About this event

Time: 2:00-3:00 pm CT

Location: National Conference on Student Assessment (NCSA) New Orleans, Louisiana

Description: This breakout session at the 2023 NCSA conference will describe how two states, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, are collaborating with REL Mid-Atlantic to explore the use of Bayesian statistical methods to reduce measurement error in their school accountability systems. The session will focus on improving the reliability of school and subgroup indicators and share findings from the REL's 2023 final report on stabilizing subgroup accountability measures for Pennsylvania schools. Education officials from across the country will learn how stabilizing school performance measures can simultaneously improve the accuracy of the measures and promote equity by shining a light on historically underserved student subgroups.
