About this event

Time: 12:30 - 1:30 PM

Location: National Network of Education Research-Practice Partnerships (NNERPP) Annual Forum (Virtual Event)

Description: How can we measure if education is becoming more equitable? Panelists will discuss this question in describing equity-focused initiatives in two large urban school districts and how they hope newly formed RPPs will assist efforts to promote equitable practices and outcomes for students. Examples of the initiatives from Philadelphia include an experiential learning opportunity for educators and students seeking to facilitate change and conduct action research in their schools, and professional development for creating inclusive learning environments. Both initiatives aim to improve equity through learning that supports changing people's mindsets, practices, and actions in relation to their context. School districts need measures to indicate whether this is happening to inform their equity efforts and augment more common equity indicators that relate to disproportionality in outcomes.
