About this event

Location: Washington, D.C.

Description: Districts invest millions annually to support full-time instructional coaching positions, yet research offers little systematic information about what effective coaches do when they collaborate with teachers or whether coaching models are implemented as designed. At the 2023 annual meeting of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, REL Appalachia staff and our partners from Kentucky described the development of an instructional coaching observation rubric and how observation data can build the capacity of mathematics coaches and supervisors to develop their practice and support continuous program improvement.

Audience: Mathematics supervisors, instructional coaches, district instructional leaders

Speakers:

  • Stephanie Wilkerson, REL Appalachia, Magnolia Consulting
  • Katrina Laguarda, REL Appalachia, SRI International
  • Erin Chavez, Kentucky Department of Education
  • Jamie Reagan, Wayne County Schools, Kentucky
