Time: 3:30-5:00 pm EDT
Location: Federal Committee on Statistical Methodology (FCSM) Research and Policy Conference, Hyattsville, MD
Description: This session at the 2024 FCSM conference will describe how two states, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, are collaborating with REL Mid-Atlantic to explore the use of Bayesian statistical methods to reduce measurement error in their school accountability systems. The session will focus on improving the reliability of school and subgroup performance measures and share findings from the REL's 2023 final report on stabilizing subgroup accountability measures for Pennsylvania schools. Participants will learn how stabilizing school performance measures can simultaneously improve the accuracy of the measures and promote equity by including more student groups in diagnostic and accountability processes.
