The Condition of Education 2010 (NCES 2010-028) and The Condition of Education 2010 in Brief (NCES 2010-029)

NCES is mandated to report to Congress and the White House on the condition of education by June 1 of each year. The Condition of Education 2010 summarizes important developments and trends in education using the latest available data. The 2010 report presents 49 indicators on the status and condition of education. The 2010 edition includes indicators in five main areas: participation in education, learner outcomes, student effort and educational progress, the contexts of elementary and secondary education, and the contexts of postsecondary education. A companion report highlights a subset of indicators from the five main areas.
