An Historical Overview of Revenues and Expenditures for Public Elementary and Secondary Education, Fiscal Years 1990 – 2002 (NCES 2007-317)

This report provides information about revenues and expenditures for public elementary-secondary education from FY 1990 through FY 2002. Data have been adjusted to constant 2002 dollars. Major subtotals are examined as full amounts, per pupil amounts, percent change across the 13-year period, and primary data items as a percentage of the totaled data items. The major subtotals analyzed include: federal, state and local revenues; total expenditures, current expenditures, and selected expenditure functions (instruction, support services, facilities, replacement equipment, other programs, interest on debt, and noninstruction expenditures). This is a compendium of previously released data adjusted to constant 2002 dollars.
