This online report will provide fourth- and eighth-grade mathematics results for Puerto Rico from the 2011 and 2013 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) administrations. In 2013, representative samples of approximately 4,600 fourth-grade students from 150 public schools and 5,200 eighth-grade students from 120 public schools in Puerto Rico participated in a Spanish-language version of the NAEP mathematics assessment. The report will describe how student performance in Puerto Rico changed between 2011 and 2013 and compared with the national results. NAEP average scale scores and achievement-level results will be presented along with summaries of student performance on specific mathematics items and in five mathematics content areas. The report will also show results from NAEP's student, teacher, and school questionnaires that are related to students' school experiences.
