The Nation's Report Card: Mega-States (NCES 2013-450)

California, Florida, Illinois, New York, and Texas have the five largest populations of public school students in the nation. These five Mega-States enroll close to 40 percent of students in the U.S. The report highlights educational outcomes in these states in reading, mathematics, and science.
