About this event
Samples of approximately 38,000 fourth-graders and 30,000 eighth-graders participated in the 2011 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Trial Urban District Assessment (TUDA) in reading. Students were asked to read literary and informational passages that tested their ability to locate and recall, integrate and interpret, and critique and evaluate.
Performance results are presented in the form of NAEP scale scores and percentages of students at the Basic, Proficient, and Advanced achievement levels. The report also includes information about the performance of different student groups and gap comparisons by gender and race/ethnicity. Comparisons are made between 2011 results and those from previous assessments. Results are available for different years for different TUDAs, but the earliest year data is available for reading is 2002.
