About this event
The 2010 U.S. history web site provides data on the performance of 4th, 8th, and 12th graders in the nation. Results are reported by average scale score, percentage of students at achievement levels, and percentiles. The results are disaggregated by gender, race/ethnicity, National School Lunch Program eligibility (at grades 4 and 8), parental education (at grades 8 and 12), student disability status, and for English language learners. In addition, results for private schools could be reported only at grade 8. Sample questions are provided to show examples of cognitive items on the assessment, and contextual factors are considered by providing percentages of students who gave various responses to several survey questions. Aspects related to sampling and to inclusion of special needs students are included.
