About this event

In an increasingly global economy, comparisons of U.S. student achievement to student achievement in other countries are of interest to U.S. states. Results will be reported on mathematics and science achievement of 8th-grade students for all the U.S. states and about 50 countries. NCES has conducted this linking study in order to allow states to compare performance of their students to their peers around the world. Through the study, states' performance on TIMSS (the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) is estimated based on their performance on NAEP (the National Assessment of Educational Progress).
