Description: The National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics Annual Conference focuses on important issues for leaders in mathematics education. The 2021 NCSM conference featured a virtual component, with a session on outcomes from a REL Appalachia study of mathematics coursetaking pathways of students who completed Algebra I in grades 7-9 in Virginia, comparing outcomes for students who achieved the same proficiency levels on their state mathematics assessment in grade 5.
