Analyzing, Understanding, and Synthesizing Focus Group Data for Oregon Literacy Framework

The fourth working session with the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) will use Module 7 of the Program Evaluation Toolkit to train ODE partners on how to analyze the data collected in their internal and external focus groups. REL Northwest will train ODE partners on organizing and analyzing data, understanding, and synthesizing the data, and applying insights gained to the new draft of the literacy framework. Using the Qualitative Analysis Activity found in Module 7, REL Northwest will train ODE partners in analyzing focus group data and facilitate an activity in which the team will practice applying codes, aggregating categories, and describing themes from qualitative data. REL Northwest will assist ODE partners in identifying appropriate ways to both align and incorporate the feedback findings to the evidence gaps and revision needs identified in session one.
