Description: District leadership and board members would like to understand how the local gender gap compares to gender gaps across the country, and learn what research says about how to reduce this gap. This Ask an Expert support will expand Queen Anne's County School District's understanding of how to best support the learning of all boys in school. The support will include a description of relevant national and statewide data on education gender gaps alongside a comparison of gender gaps in Queen Anne's County and the larger group of districts that comprise the Eastern Shore of Maryland Educational Consortium (ESMEC). This project will also include a brief search for interventions or practices that improve educational outcomes for boys. The REL will provide Queen Anne's County with suggestions for evidence-based interventions to consider implementing or promising practices described in the literature on gender gaps that the district may consider piloting to study their effectiveness.
