Description: The REL team will provide a short memo to District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) staff responding to the request about states and districts that measure school performance by comparing each school's performance to that of schools serving similar student populations. The REL team will review findings about other states and cities' use of comparing similar schools, including the context, purpose, and methods used. The REL team will also provide recommendations about the which methods for comparing similar schools may be most helpful for achieving OSSE's current goals and explore potential alternatives to achieve those goals.
