About this event
On February 1, 2024, REL West met with partners at Grand County School District (GCSD) and San Juan County School District (SJSD) for the second coaching session as part of the Improving Academic Outcomes for Multilingual Students in Rural Southeast Utah partnership. During phase 2, session 2, participants learned about evidence-based practices from relevant WWC English language learner practice guides and considered how these practices are embedded in the curriculum materials; reviewed REL Southwest resource American Indian English Learners Evidence Review (REL Southwest, 2020) and The Potential of a Culturally Based Supplemental Mathematics Curriculum to Improve the Mathematics Performance of Alaska Native and Other Students (Kisker et al., 2012); and identified evidence-based practices aligned with their mathematics focus area.
