On June 5, 2024, REL West will meet with partners at Grand County School District (GCSD) and San Juan County School District (SJSD) for a coaching session as part of the Improving Academic Outcomes for Multilingual Students in Rural Southeast Utah partnership. During session 3, participants will learn about evidence-based practices from relevant WWC mathematics-focused practice guides and consider how these practices are embedded in the curriculum materials; identify evidence-based practices aligned with their mathematics focus area; plan for communicating to teacher PLCs about the mathematics focus area and how it aligns with ongoing mathematics efforts; learn about evidence-based practices from relevant WWC English language learner practice guides and consider how these practices are embedded in the curriculum materials; and review REL Southwest resource American Indian English Learners Evidence Review (REL Southwest; 2020) and The Potential of a Culturally Based Supplemental Mathematics Curriculum to Improve the Mathematics Performance of Alaska Native and Other Students (Kisker et al.; 2012)*
