On March 13, 2024, REL West met with partners at Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) for a workshop session, part of the partnership titled "Coaching to Improve Math Instruction for Multilingual English Learners in Santa Clara County". During this session, participants developed an understanding of the linguistic demands of math tasks for Multilingual Learners at different grades and language levels; and explored visual representations, one of the instructional themes from the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) practice guide recommendations, from a developmental perspective related to middle and high school multilingual learners and math.
