On January 24, 2024, REL West met with partners at Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) to kick off the partnership titled "Improving Math Outcomes for Middle School Multilingual Learners in Santa Clara County". During session 1, participants established an understanding of the PLC purpose and scope and how it aligns to existing county and district initiatives; learned about recent research findings on the unique challenges and assets of MLs in math; and exploreed cross-cutting instructional themes in the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) practice guide recommendations related to middle and high school MLs and math.
