On March 29, 2024, REL West met with partners at Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) to kick off the second project as part of the partnership titled "Improving Expanded Learning Programs in SAUSD to Reduce Chronic Absenteeism in Middle and High Schools". During session 1 of the Descriptive Snapshots of SAUSD Expanded Learning Programming and Development of Research Agenda project, participants developed an understanding of how regular evidence review fits within practices of evaluation, continuous improvement, and building/maintaining a culture of data use; learned about evidence review protocols; used an evidence review protocol to examine and discuss SAUSD Expanded Learning program data; and practiced modifying or adding elements to data snapshots.
