Jen Park of NCES will highlight key findings of the third wave of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Birth Cohort (ECLS-B) data collection at a presentation on February 20, at 2:30 p.m. at NCES. Featured will be a brief study overview and selected aspects of children's school readiness directly measured when they were about 4 years of age. Specifically, Park will present national estimates of preschool-age children's language, literacy, mathematics, and fine motor skills, and information on children's nonparental education and care experiences, both overall and by key family and child characteristics. Data from the National Household Education Surveys Program places ECLS-B data in context by featuring trends in school readiness skills and nonparental education and care experiences.
