Description: The goal for this webinar is to increase in-service and pre-service educators' knowledge of the recommendations from the IES practice guides Teaching Elementary Schools Students to Be Effective Writers and Teaching Secondary Students to Write Effectively, and expose them to some of the activities in the guides so they may implement these evidence-based practices in their classrooms. Educators will delve deeply into the recommendations and examples from the practices guides. Participants will leave with the knowledge and ability to utilize the recommendations and activities in the practice guides in their state and local settings.

Research Alliance: Improving Literacy Research Alliance

Audience: The primary audience will include those involved in literacy policy making, pre-service teacher education, coaching, and teaching at the SEA and LEA levels throughout the United States.
