Informing Policy: Examining Enrollment Trends in Universal Prekindergarten in Vermont

Description: Vermont passed universal prekindergarten (preK) legislation in 2014 to increase access to high-quality preK programs for all of Vermont's young children. REL Northeast & Islands has partnered with Vermont to explore questions about universal preK enrollment patterns. This webinar will present findings from the resulting study, Enrollment Rates of Children in Universal Prekindergarten Programs in Vermont in 2016/17. A REL Northeast & Islands researcher will also engage partners from the Vermont Agency of Education in a discussion around the implications of the study for Vermont, as well as the value of research-practice partnerships in informing state policy.

Audience: This webinar is intended for state and local education agency staff considering implementing or currently implementing universal preK. The Vermont education community and others interested in universal preK and how research can be used to inform policy should also attend.
