About this event

Time: 12:00-2:00pm MT

Location: Virtual

Description: This training is the first is a series of six trainings in which REL Central will guide state education agency leaders through a process of using data and evidence to identify high-leverage educational priorities. In this first training, we will present and model protocols for using data and evidence to inform solutions, using a predetermined focus area of common need to the states (adolescent literacy). We will provide an overview of the event series, establish common expectations for conducting the work, engage participants in examining data and research evidence related to a specific need, and guide discussions to develop potential solutions to the problem. We will then describe next steps, which will include participants engaging their own SEA staff to determine areas of high-leverage need, identifying a specific need, and gathering relevant local data.

Audience: State education agency staff from Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming

Speakers: Mike Siebersma, REL Central; David Yanoski, REL Central; Shelby Hubach, REL Central; Matt Eide, REL Central
