About this event

The goal of the webinar was to expand the knowledge of school and district administrators on incorporating staff feedback in principal evaluation, formally or informally. The webinar included a brief presentation about teacher survey instruments already used by other districts and states as an input for school leader evaluations, as well as notable research on the characteristics, use, and effects of those instruments. It described the results of a recent REL Mid-Atlantic report on the potential role of staff surveys in school leader evaluation in the District of Columbia Public Schools. Then, REL Mid-Atlantic Director Brian Gill facilitated a panel discussion about incorporating staff input into principal evaluation, including benefits and challenges, with Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals Executive Director Terry Ball and Jesse Papia, Director of Employee Effectiveness at Baltimore City Public Schools, where staff surveys are used as a component of principal evaluation ratings.

The presenters in this video are: --Brian Gill, REL Mid-Atlantic --Whitney Kozakowski, REL Mid-Atlantic --Brittney Gionfriddo, REL Mid-Atlantic --Terry Ball, Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals --Jesse Papia, Baltimore City Public Schools
